First Congregational Church of Lisbon • Community Workshop
A thoughtful, practical workshop to help you document your wishes and give your loved ones the gift of clarity.
About This Workshop
Planning a funeral or memorial service is one of the most loving things you can do for your family — and one of the things most of us put off until it’s too late. This workshop gently guides you through the decisions that matter most, so your wishes are known and your loved ones are spared the burden of guessing.
Led by Pastor Kathleen Hyde of First Congregational Church of Lisbon, this 90-minute session is open to everyone in the community, regardless of faith background. There is no pressure and no cost — just honest, compassionate conversation about a topic that touches us all.
What We’ll Cover
We’ll walk through what information is most helpful for families and funeral homes to have — and how to make sure the right people can find it.
Music, readings, scripture, tributes — what makes a memorial truly reflect a life. You’ll have space to think through what matters to you.
How to talk with family members about your wishes — and how to invite them into the conversation without it feeling heavy.
A gentle exploration of how faith communities support families through loss, and what the church can offer regardless of your background.
